keep your options open. when doing nails, talk with your customers and find out what they do and if there are any positions open. being a nail tech is a great way to network

Have you considered enlisting in the military. The non combative branches are the air force and navy. It's an option and has great benefits and excellent pay. As far as being a beautician there is nothing demeaning about it and you can take pride in your accomplishments. There is no reason that you can't excel in the profession and become a make up artist for an individual celebrity or a cast of a movie. You're only as limited as you choose to be. Whatever honest job you have is a good job and you should do your best and take nothing for granted because so many people wish they had any kind of job.

I do nails...well...was. It's friggin gross touching people. Especially pedicures. You will always smell like feet. The diseases you come across are foul...gross. Have fun hunny. I wish you luck.

p.s. don't schedule a pedi before lunch. Even with gloves on you can smell their feet on your food, no matter how much you wash. Maybe it's in my head, but I don't think so.
