Anyone have Gastric Reflux?

I have suffered reflux for ten years. I have been to a gastro-interologist. I have had the upper and lower GI series done and the colonoscopy. Acid reflux is very dangerous left untreated. I did not realize this at a younger age, I just thought it was heart burn. I know have more damage done to my easophagus. I vomit on a regular basis and suffer sever pain after eating. Protonix 40 mg twice a day is helping keep the acid under control. Atleast that stops the middle of the night overflow. The best advice I can give you is this..if you take tums more than twice a day for more than two days and you are not feeling any relief you need to see a gastro. Get it looked at. FYI- i know i spelled alot wrong( it's late and i wanted to help..;)

I have it. I can't eat anything without getting heart burn. I take Nexium once a day, and I could snout a jalapeno pepper and not even feel it.

I take zantac twice a day and it works for me. I still avoid a lot of red sauces, coffee, or soda. I have come to accept that I cant go easy on the chocolate though. My diet has gotten kind of bland for the most part. If its not taken care of the acids that come back up could damage your esophogus and I've heard that its a possibility that that damage could make cancer more likely than if there was no damage.

I have it. I take prevacid, and I take Gaviscon at night before bed. The worst thing for me is not the stomach pain, it's waking up strangling and gagging on the refluxed acid. It takes half an hour to recover.
