Anyone on celexa? can you share your experience with it?

I've taken Celexa since I was about 8.. I have a family history of Depression - my great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and myself are all on Celexa. Throughout my life I have noticed the amazingly positive effects it has had on me. I can definitely tell if I've forgotten to take my medicine, haha. (So can the people around me!) But I would say, for my family, it really has proven to be the only answer for our depression. We've since switched to the generic version of the pill, which works just as well and is a billion times cheaper..
As far as negative side-effects go, I haven't noticed any at all.. I'm extremely pleased with Celexa. Hope this helps!

I have been on Celexa for 8 years and the changes it has made in my life are extrememly positive. An acute lack of seratonin in my entire family line has caused suicides, rage attacks, and severe depression. Now on Celexa I finally feel "normal" whatever that is lol. I have had to have the doseage upped once, and can do that one more time safely. As a side benefit it has also stopped the restless leg syndrome I was experiencing nightly!

I have been on it for a couple of months now. I have noticed an improvement in my mood but it is not helping with my fibromyalgia though. Aches and pains are still there everyday. Other than that, I think Celexa is a pretty good antidepressant. I have not had any side effects from it either. However, a friend of mine gained weight after she started taking it. Everyone is different though. I would not let that discourage you.

I took Celexa for a while as a teenager. It was a "milder" option they gave me. It was alright, didn't cause me to feel homicidal like Prozac did. Didnt' help me a whole lot though, maybe was just too low of a dose?

I'm sure that Celexa probably works totally different on different people. I've had shrinks tell me they thought I might need a depression pill, and I'd take it, and it would make my cry like a baby over nothing at all. Or they would make me think things even more bizarre than what I already do. Just try it and see how it does you. If it fcks you up don't mess with them.
