I read several and then decided he was insincere. For me a great lesson in how everything you read in books is not so. He started off using an academic style and I believe took a major University Anthropology Department with him. It a lesson that academics should be read critically and not assume good faith. I think Casteneda is a very interesting read. I do not consider him as being an academic though. He taught me a great lesson though so respect for that!

I read a part of the teachings of Don Juan when i was bored and sitting in this guys library whos into stuff like that. I couldn't finish it it struck me a bull **** and he started getting pretty kooky a few pages in. Sounded like a lot the the tired old religious crap I've seen before in the Gita or the Bible etc.
