Anyone watching the Twilight Zone marathon of the Sci-Fi channel?

I sure am!

I'm bbqing while taking breaks to catch some episodes.

There are some true gems in that series. I've been watching Twilight Zone my entire life. And it doesn't matter how many times I watch it, I seem to always find episodes i've never seen before!

The two standout episodes i've seen today had one featuring William Shatner. He played this character who went to this local eatery with his soon to be wife in this small town in Ohio.

They were eating at this table that had a forutune teller like box on it. Every time they put a penny in it, it gave a fortune that seemed to predict things before they happen. It was a pretty chilling episode!

The other one I saw had these five strangers trapped in a box, in what seemed to be in the middle of no where! They had no idea who each other were in addition to not even knowing who they were themselves. In the end, they tried to escape only to fail in doing so. Turns out, they were actually toys put inside of a box that was to be donated to orphaned children lol

Anyone else here catching the marathon? And what are some of your favorite episodes?

Yep, I watch it every year! Those shows hold up pretty well, considering they were filmed in the '50s. That fortune-teller ep IS creepy. I saw the one last night where Art Carney plays the broken-down, drunken department store Santa Claus with the magic bag that gives people just what they want. He was so great. I think that's my all-time favorite ep.

I was thinking about switching over from what I'm watching now. :) They had one of my favorites on last night.. 'Changing of the Guard',I don't know why but I love the acting in that one. :) I love them all though...

Watched a bunch last night, the really cheesy ones from the 80's when the series came back for a few seasons. I remember watching them as a kid, along with my other favorites, "Tales from the Darkside" and "Tales from the Crypt." Anyone else remember those?

i used to watch it with my ex, who preferred doing so to mixing with the 4th crowd of people (ha--that sounds like a good title for an episode)!--i think now he had the right idea! anyway, i like the episode called 'serving humans'--i could see that ending coming, actually.

yep, this was brilliance to schedule this marathon..

Did you see the one with the ventriloquist? It had the actor that ended up playing Sgt. Carter in Gomer Pyle..I'm still watching, but that episode creeped me out. That puppet was a cross between a clown and a mime, both terrifying visions!

Happy 4th! We can *****, but we are FREE!!

I looked at it a couple times. I peeked at the one where this family is trying to escape from their planet before it's nuked. It has a twist ending; maybe the planet they wanted to escape to was earth. Didn't watch the whole thing.

Shatner was in another one were a monster ate his plane in mid flight. He shot it and ended up on a gurney.

I still can't believe that Serling died. Why did he do that to us?

I watch it every year. There are a handfull plus of classics. Not sure of the real names but...

To Serve Man: Aliens land and bring peace and prosperity to Earth. Give the US Govt. a book. Invite people to their home planet. Then someone decodes the book.

Talking Tina: Doll says she will kill Telly Savalas.

Monster on Main Street: Close knit neighborhood torn apart when the power goes off. Each family accuses each other of falsities.

Bomb Shelter: 4? families eating dinner when a nuclear warning comes on radio. Only one family has a bomb shelter yet the others try to get in.

???: Burgess Meredith is avid book reader who reads in the bank vault during lunch. Bomb destroys world so he's happy. Goes to library and ...

There's more but the best were written by Rod Sterling. His always had a twist at the end which you never saw coming and were usually very psychological in nature.
