    They've been there since radio days ... I remember as a kid watching the Saturday morning cartoons and seeing the latest prizes being pushed in the myriad of kids cereals and begging mom to buy that cereal the next time she went to town. Sometimes the begging worked if we actually consumed that cereal in the past, but if it was something we never had before there was no way I was getting that prize.

    If a product is harmful to children, then advertising (as well as selling, and simply making the product) is unethical. Sugar-laden cereals are a fine example of a product that is unethical far before an ad hits the media.

    They might not be ethical but in the end,the decision remains with the parents as to whether or not their children have these things.
