we believe that ravens carry the souls of our ancestors and loved ones to visit the living. it is a really comforting thought:) i remember a few weeks after my son was born my husband's grandmother's coffee cup fell from our kitchen shelf (which was almost impossible). when i bent to retrieve it i noticed 2 ravens outside the window. they were both looking in. i went to fetch my son and husband and they were still there upon our return, as if waiting patiently. i showed them my son. they stayed for a moment or two then flew away:) who knows if it is all real but it is a nice thought anyway:)

I don't think so but that would be lovely as I love feeding the little birds around my home. There is an incredible book out there about how to handle the death of a loved one called: And Not One Bird Stopped Singing. So, maybe...

What a fanciful idea! If they are, I'm glad. Because they seem to be having an awful good time in my garden!

I always thought they were the ancestors of dinosaurs, but your conception is much more poetic...

No. Birds are winged, bipedal, endothermic (warm-blooded), vertebrate animals that lay eggs.

Some think they evolved from dinausaurs, others disagree but they don’t have another theroy to counter the dinausaur theory. So it’s all up in the air still.

It would be nice if the world wasn’t what we thought it was. What you see is what you get until proven otherwise (which it hasen’t). Sorry to burst the “spiritual bubble” here.
If you want to belive in fairytales, it’s your perogative though :) You have the right to believe anything (in some countries).

Hi everton13
better than that! Birds are the descendants of the dinosaurs who ruled The Earth for millions of years. Fantastic idea dinosaurs live amongst us without getting in the way or even being noticed!

No. I don't think they are. I've never seen people, hanging upside down, to get peanuts out of a feeder, nor yet, pecking at the lard soaked bread, that I put out for birds. I'm sure, if they were, they would be just a little more dignified. And don't even mention, eating worms and bugs!

I would love it if they were. But I seriously wonder what one can do wrong in his life to deserve ending up as something as ugly as a seagull.
