I'm sorry -- I misunderstood your question -- no, if that were true, then we would still think the earth was flat and the center of the universe. The preposterous questions are the ones that encourage growth sometimes...

Who's to say what's preposterous or not? To some a question may seem valid and for others maybe not. But I think everyone should have the right to post any questions here in peace. If people think it's preposterous, they should just simply move on and don't answer it. ;-)

As long as they make sense to the person asking the question then they are not wrong. Those that wish to answer the question are the ones that must stretch beyond themselves to seek the answer.

No, only until the facts tell otherwise. I mean, "Is the world round or flat" was most likely considered a "completely preposterous" question...but far from wrong on the simple grounds of being asked. And now look at all the information we have about this beautiful planet and universe! Questions, humor and sarcasm work great together sometimes. It jumpstarts our thinking and our opinions which in turn contribute to many diverse advancements.

Not as long as my completely preposterous answers aren't wrong either. It's not about insulting anyone's intelligence. Absurd & silly is ok in the right context. I try to hold myself in check.

They can be humorous but more often than not they insult the intelligence of the average person. Best to engage in absurdities sparingly.

I like totally preposterous questions, some can be pretty funny. However for some members on here that take themselves too sertiously an just hate everything, it seems to be the worst kind of thing in the world. So they whine about it like we give a damn!

Exactly my thoughts Shadow :)

It's always better to ask than to keep silent.

I think everything happens / is said for a reason; but often I can't think of a reason! Still, its often entertaining... sometimes time-wasting. Usually you have to read the question to evaluate it; but if I have nothing useful or humorous to say, I move on.

Not necessarily.... just depends what the question is, who is doing the asking and how often.

I ask questions sometimes to provoke humor/ answers or check out opinions/ see what certain people say....

I also gleen from the answers the types of people I want to learn more about

I then go to their profile and read all of their experiences, some I add to my circle
