Are fizzy drinks bad for teeth?

I just been told they are bad for teeth! WHY?!

Partly becaues of the sugar, but mainly because of the acid. The thing that makes them fizzy is acidic and the acid will just eat the enamel off your teeth. The worst thing you can do, though, is have a fizzy drink and then clean your teeth straight away - you should rinse your mouth out with water and wait awhile before you clean your teeth.
