I could never hire a housekeeper. Tried it and I had to go back and clean after them again so what's the point? I'd rather save the $100 and buy myself some shoes.

Household chores are a necessity of a single person as much as a married person; none of us needs be married, in a partnership or even sharing living space ... it's a job that needs to be done. If any of us hire a housekeeper, then my immediate thought is that (firstly) we can afford it and it gives us less to do so we can use that time to do more things that are more beneficial or (secondly) it gives us more time to be with family and / or friends. I wouldn't assume that a person who hires a housekeeper is lazy; after saying which, I'm sure there are instances where one could say this is a truth also.
