I have done both and I feel online is harder. I think it is because they cram a whole semester into 5 weeks, and the fact that you never see anyone is hard. I like the online better because of my health I was missing to much school. Online can go with me anywhere even the hospital, and I am never behind.
if you have a hard time motivating yourself, yes.
What I have done online was easier for me, as I tend to learn on my own anyway, so a teacher was never that much help.
I did my university degree extramurally (which now includes online) through a reputable University here in New Zealand and doing it on line has lot of advantages if money is tight but it has the disadvantage that you can't always get access to the lecturers or get access to reliable information on line. ("Google it" is worse than useless when doing academic study.)
