Are people who divorce actually happier than people who stay unhappily married?

I have been divorced. Looking back I cannot believe how miserable I was. Now I am re married. I am much happier.

I stayed unhappily married for 17 years. The day I got my divorce I wanted to jump on a building and yell: "I'M FREE!" and not because I was free to go out with other men just because I felt like I was in prison.

In the shorttterm only. People who struggle it out and hold on to their values will win in the end. Love isn't always easy and you don't give up on a person you love just because you hit hard times- in fact the harder times hit, the more you can prove how deep love is.

With my experience and in my opinion I can honestly say that I'm happier divorced than I was when I was unhappily married.
