All religions are just based on myths. The only real difference between what we refer to as a religion or a myth is whether people continue to this day in believing in the myth. If they sitll believe then it's referred to as religion. If they don't then it's referred to as a mythology.

    The morphing isn't necessary.

So Mary was a virgin mother. The Emperor of China had human mother and his father was a dragon. The greeks had affairs with mortals or so their children claimed. The milky way was created by a big snake who used a handful of eucolyptus trees to create the sun. The list goes on. If the story has a good moral whats the harm?

I will admit that I have, after imbibing the smoke of the marijuana plant, hypothesised that Jesus could have been a vampire.
