Are states rights a good thing

The only thing I can think of is that Government can be corrupt whether its local, national or state. However the state may have a better time dealing with more localized issues.

The federal government has expanded it's authority way beyond what is authorized by the constitution and is usurping those areas reserved for the states.

People have rights... States... It's more correct to say that they have responsibilities.... What is at issue is in what direction do responsibilities get delegated...

I think so. Every state is different with different needs, plus the citizens are more likely to watch what is happening in there own back yard.
