"House of the Rising Sun" by Frijid Pink.
A song sung by many artistes but this one is the best.

There are a couple of artists who, in my opinion, did a better version of Hallelujah than Leonard Cohen.

Lissie´s "Bad romance" sound much better than Lady Gaga´s version.
I once read a youtube-comment saying: "It sounds like the original"
;-)

A few..I prefer Nirvana's version of The man who sold the world rather than David Bowie's..even though Bowie's is awesome..I also prefer Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah to Leonard Cohen's original version. I think if you look hard enough you'll find a lot of great songs..songs that made people famous..were probably done by somebody else at some point...the trick is to make your version better :P

I like Marilyn Manson's Depeche Mode covers better than the originals. I also like Bob Marley's version of Hotel California better. And I like Disturb's cover of Shout. Oh yeah, and I prefer Type O Negative's version of Cinnamon Girl.
There are a lot of covers I prefer but those are the only ones I can think of right now.
