I play D&D if that's what you mean, but the other kind of roleplaying sounds fun too :D

What is D&D like? I always hear of it but I know nothing about it.

You get together with a group of friends and one of them is the DM and he plays all the NPC's, creates the world, encounters, and etc. Everyone else makes a character with whatever back-story they want, you basically do whatever you want but the DM can make a background story for the campaign like, "A cult of necromancers in the area have been raising armies of the undead that have been roaming the countryside hunting down travelers." and the party can pursue them as a quest, hang around town, try to find people looking for skilled adventurers. The DM can hint at things, like my example but whether or not the party wants to pursue them is their choice, but they may be attacked by zombies during their travels lol. It's played with paper and dice to simulate the combat, I've heard of people actually dressing up and fighting each other or using figurines lol but I've never really done that before, haven't tried it anyways
