Are you saying there is a kitchen gadget that grates cheese? If we ever do have access to them here, I'm going to buy one.

Yes. I like it grated... it is much easier to eat with my little mouth.

I don't eat cheese but I like watching the Italian restaurant waiters come use their graters which resemble files or rasps, with a handle and a semi-circular grating surface. The waiter holds the grater in one hand and a hard block of cheese in the other. The idea is to scrape the cheese across the blades of the grater and allow cheese flakes to fall into the food. Some waiters wrap a towel around the cheese to protect their fingers.
