agriculture is the only job that there is a lot of money in still, amd you get a lot of your own food as well.
The farm machines keep getting bigger and need less labor per acre to farm. Around here there are numerous little towns that have only a fraction of the former population because farm jobs went away as machinery replaced labor. More and more of us don't know how to poduce the food we eat. Most people don't know where food comes from. Its not a good trend.

In America it doesn't seem so. Seems more like laws and regulations are butchering the independent farmers and paving the way for more industrial farming.
Farming does not require much labor. What you are seeing is depressed industrial hiring making a stable farming labor force look bigger than it would in a normal economy.
