Are there special situations where its okay to abort?

Do you think its okay in certain situations to abort a baby? (like if a woman was to get assaulted and that resulted in pregnancy?)Why or why not?

For me, there is no special situation.I know its hard for some men to understand, but as a mother already I could not do it,its not there fault after all.

Is This A Good Question? (1)

There are lots of situations where abortion is the best option. More than ever could be listed, and no one deserves to have to dissect their life to explain every single motivation they have, so I just withhold judgement rather than being condemnatory.

I would never think of forcing a woman to remain pregnant. It's horrible for the mother, the baby, and everyone around them. Forcing someone to become a mother doesn't mean they'll be a good mother, even if they try.

Ra pe, Inc est, and when carrying the pregnancy to term would kill the mother. In all other cases - the pregnancy is the natural consequence of the woman's choices.

I don't think abortions wrong in any situation. Since It's your choice period.
But I would feel sorry for the dad if he wanted the baby :C
Only if he is not abusive or a one night stand.
But if he's someone your committed to/love like a boyfriend or husband, I think they should at least have a say.

Of course. Anything from I WAS RAPED. To. I don't want to be a mother right now. At least in the first trimester. I am against late second and all third trimester abortions though except for extraordinarily bad situation. I still believe in a woman's right to choose. It is, after all, her body.

There are always exceptions, although, what excuse can be made for killing an innocent being?

Yes, it is her body and HER choice. Women are intelligent and do not need to be controlled.

I think this should be left up to the woman. It is her body. I understand the point of view that it is not the baby's fault and I personally feel it should be avoided whenever possible. But I do support certain cases because no one should be forced to carry a child either.

I believe women should always have the right. I'm not comfortable with late term abortions but realistically as long as the baby is inside the woman and can't sustain itself, I can't really say I consider it a separate living person. Babies don't have the right to life really until they can be born alive. Before that one can't really be sure that the pregnancy would have resulted in a live birth. Still, I support wide spread usage of birth control because I can't think of any scenario where an abortion is preferable to avoiding conception. Basically, that an abortion is intrinsically negative, but can be necessary.

well, i was rap ed a while back and even though i was 23 at the time, i had a termination. now i'm a mum at 33 and having scans etc no way could i do it again, but when i went for my termination i wasn't asked why or shown a scan i was given two pills then a few days later i went back in to have the dead baby. it was awful and now i think i wasn't given enough information or advice about what i was doing. and had i had the info now i.e internet etc. i wouldn't do it. however i would never ever judge anyone's decision and neither should anyone unless you have been in the situation. saying what you would do hypothetically is one thing but living it is another.

its certainly not something i would do again ever, even if i was ra ped again, cos i know too much now about baby breathing and growing finger nails etc, and its heartbreaking to think about what i did. however to raise a baby and be reminded that it was the result of a ra pe would be really difficult, so i guess for the babies sake i would adopt but i would write a letter in the hope the adoptive parents would give the baby it when they were older so they understood

I know that it's none of my business what a woman decides to do to her body in 100% of situations.

Yes in sexual assault of a minor (like 13 at the most 14yrs old) unless the child wanted to keep the baby. Other than that HELL NO!!!

Why it's hard for men to understand? I would never let my girlfriend abort. You think all men are careless?

no,but when i asked my husband about it.he was deathly against keeping the baby if it were to happen.so i guess it depends on the man.

To begin with I want to make it clear that I am almost 100% against abortion.

Having said that there are times when it is medically unsafe to have a child. Doing so would kill the mother and/or the baby. That is the only reasons in hell I can think of not to have a baby.

A rape baby is kind of up for debate in my opinon
