I would say yes...I've gone back and re-read a lot of the books I read as a child and can see where I got a lot of my values and even ways of thinking..it's a little weird actually.

No im not as 1/2 adventurous or brave as the characters in the books i read.

I tend to read and purchase books that reflect my mood or what I'm thinking of, for what it's worth in regards to your question.

For example, the last time I felt lost and confused in life, I read Siddhartha; when my ex and I were going through one of our tough times, I read War of the Roses; the few months I worked at a car dealership I read Glengarry Glen Ross and Death of A Salesman

People today are like ebooks..
we offer a version of ourselves online, but how do you know its true to the real thing?
