Hell no. I've always accepted and embraced my intelligence. The only real problem with it is that you constantly find yourself surrounded by idiots.

I think most people are afraid of admitting that they aren't. Unless they don't value intelligence very much in the first place. Challenge someone's physical appearance, and they'll usually shrug it off, but challenge someone's intellect, especially if they consider themselves intelligent, and you're asking for the biggest display of defensiveness you'll ever see. Understandable, though. Being ugly is nobody's fault. Being stupid is your own.

Saying that you only pretend to be dumb is just another defense mechanism. "If i say that i'm only pretending to be dumb, then people will think i actually have more to offer." But ultimately, it's ok. We're all only human.

Maybe? Heaven's no, I am certainly far above average, albeit no Einstein (one rock?), and I do pride myself on my ability to think on the fly and adjust as new information comes in, and using it to redefine my opinion, outlook, inference on whatever thing is at hand. In school, as a younger boy, I was uncomfortable with it at times, but as an adult I am going to say I agree with Ms. Robot. Insult or question my intelligence and I will go for the nuclear option.

in a heap of butt hurt that would make a corn farmer reconsider his livelyhood.
