Ah... it's tricky to answer this. Love does make you completely vulnerable to another person. I once wrote of it, "In the worst way, it's getting harder to guard the depths of my heart. I gotta wonder if I should pull away, I'm so close I can feel the heartbreak." That's how I honestly felt when I first fell in love.
But it's not the actual love I am afraid of, because love is pure and wonderful. It's rejection. I'm afraid of what they might see in me that I don't like. I'm afraid that I won't be good enough. I don't consider any of that part of love, I consider that to be my own insecurities.
