Are you for or against globalization and why?

By "globalization," I mean world currency, councils like the U.N. probably having even more power over the world, free trade between countries because we're all on EARTH, etc.

I know my own views with this, but I won't post them here because I want to stay a neutral question-asker. =P I would like to hear others' thoughts and views though.
Clarification: When I say "councils like the U.N.", I mean councils similar to the U.N.--not necessarily the U.N. itself. Sorry for not being clearer on that.

way against. the less people in power, the more power they will wield over the rest of us. it also sets it up for a single person running the world. whether you're religious or not, whether or not you believe in the antichrist and all the prophesies about him coming to power, it's absolutely true that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

AGAINST. If it ever happens we will all be pulled down to a level of mediocrity where hard working cultures have to share the fruits of their labor with less industrious people.

It is socialism and it is well know that socialism stifles freedom and ingenuity.

A world governing body such as the UN is a joke. THe UN is coorupt and incompetent.

Against. The world is too big and people are too different from each other to be jammed into a single organization.

I think globalization is a code-word for "take money from the rich and give it to the poor." Take a look at the old USSR to see how well that worked out.
