Are you intelligent? or they? Most Intelligent Mimic Octopus in the World!
The octopus is believed to be one of the most intelligent creatures in the sea, which is pretty high praise for any invertebrate. But there is one species of this animal that is far and beyond any other: the mimic octopus, Thaumoctopus mimicus. This amazing animal is new to science, having only been discovered in the tropical waters off the coast of Indonesia 1998, and without even a name or classification for years after that. The reason it took so long for anyone to find it is because it prefers to live in places where few divers care to explore, such as on the silty, muddy sea floor near river mouths. long with other octopus species, it has the ability to change color instantly. But what really makes this octopus different and unique is its ability to impersonate, or mimic, a whole host of other sea creatures depending on the circumstances. No other animal known to science has such a diverse ability. Some animals can mimic other species, but generally it's limited to one other.

I love octopi, because they are so weird and intelligent (like some of us).
Has it been decided yet whether their intelligence is result of alien interference, or divine intervention?.I suspect only humans needed that extra help.Like (2)

I haven't heard about this species in particular, but I've known and been fascinated for a long time about the intelligence of octopi in general. It opened my mind to the fact that people in general (including most of the scientific community) have this idea that humans are exclusive in having intelligence, and then (when they have to admit the intelligence of dogs, horses, and porpoises) believing that, well, at least, _mammals_ have an exclusive right to intelligence. Learning about this opened my eyes to how much intelligence there is in the universe, and how it seems to have very little to do with brain size (for instance, some spiders are exceptionally intelligent). And this in turned opened my eyes to how little scientists really understand about intelligence, and how many _kinds_ of intelligence there are. . .
