Are you proud to be you?

Accomplishments big and small. Vices and flaws too. I am not there yet. I am confident enough in the person I am. But I need a little bit more.

Yes. I take pride in who I am. I have made my mistakes and I am no where near perfect, but I try hard each and every day to be the best friend I possibly can be, to love others as if they are my family, treat those I've found I cannot love with the respect they deserve as human beings, and to live my life happily pursuing my dreams~ I am no angel.. but I am unique~ No one can ever replace me! And the same goes for every person & creature on this planet. Be proud of who you are!

For the most part. I have worked hard to accomplish goals I have set and even though there are times I have stumbled and made mistakes, I have always kept going and not given up.

I haven't got a religious bone in my body but most major religions all have one thing in common that I completely agree with. That is pride is a bad thing. I know in this day and age when we're all told to take pride in just about everything you may wonder what could possibly be wrong with it. Pride is bad because you can only have it through comparison. Comparing yourself to others, comparing you country to other countries, etc. Once you start heading down this road of putting yourself above others you start to believe you are better than others or your country is better than other countries. From this comes arrogance and the better you think you are or more importantly the lesser you think others are the easier it is to accept or do bad things to them. Personally I think pride is the root of much of the terrible things that happen in this world.

So I wouldn't say I'm proud to be me. I'm thankful, happy and feel very lucky that I was born in a relatively wealthy country, with stable government where I received an excellent education and have managed to lead a reasonably successful life with a wonderful wife and daughter.
