Are you really excited about the 2012 Olympics coming to Britain?
It's been pointed out that my opinions regarding the Olympic Games are negative. Let's get this into context. The original budget for the games was £2.3 billion. It was revised to £3.3 billion and now could top £11 billion. These are incomprehensible amounts of money, which in my opinion, should be spent helping drag this godforsaken country out of the mire it's in.
Spend it where is needed, health, education anf helping the poor and unemployed.

I understand your point. But if Britain didn't spend that money, some other country would. And I love the Olympics. I guess it's a matter of perspective. Some years back a whale swam up near London and an awful lot of money got spent trying to save it. I couldn't understand why it wasn't fed to the poor. I mean, it died anyway. It's not like it was someone's pet. The checks been written. Unless you hate sports, why not throw in the towel and try your best to enjoy the experience?

No. I think the Olympics are a waste of time. They're only a bunch of games. What makes them so important? There are a lot of other things where this kind of money could actually help people in need.

No. Am sure it will be another reason (sooner or later) to bring in more draconian laws - our government fears us! And so they should!
Am just waiting for traffic to get worse!

I agree with you completely! I also think that the dirty terrorist's may use the distraction of the games to launch an attack elsewhere in the country. We should have the death penalty for terrorist's. If they're so damn eager to meet with their virgins then we should oblige them, bleeding things!

I lost complete interest in the Olympics 20 years ago. I don't think my kids have ever watched any of it. I live in Chicago and was glad we lost our bid, because it's usually not worth the hassle for the host city.
