When I got out of high school I was ready to get the hell out of there - to leave my entire state behind me. I had a couple of people who were my friends....but at the time they didn't know me for who I really was. I went to a Catholic Private school and was in a very "red" southern state. I am a gay male and that was the absolute worst environment for me to be in. People already didn't like me for various reasons outside of my sexuality....I was way too sensitive to people.
I have found a couple of people on facebook who I used to be friends with. But I never really gone out of my way to really reconnect with them because of the beliefs they have about "my kind." Such is the way I have run through life though. When I was sent to that high school I had to leave behind everyone I grew up with from kinder to 8th grade. I guess it just fit the bill so to speak.Like (1)

Yes.... only 3 of them. I had more friends but time has taken ppl in different directions in life.

No, I left high school and never looked back. After 13 years, I can still easily find most of them on social sites but chose not to contact any of them.
It was an all girls catholic school. A lot of bad memories, too many back stabbing. Girls can be so catty. Rich, pretty and smart girls don't do well in these environments!Like (1)

Well, one of them. We became friends in middle school, good friends in high school, and best friends after high school.

Absolutely not! Aside from the fact, I didn't have any friends in high school per se, I never liked any of them to begin with, and I don't them now.

i have 2 school friends that i still keep in touch with. one of them i knew from year 1 but we did not become friends until year 12 and it was then we became "best friends". the other i became friends with since year 8. we now just celebrate special occasions together like birthdays and christmas. ... but nothing has changed- we always have this connection for life.

what a coincidence, i was just about to ask a question about high school reunions!!!! recently we've all been reconnecting via facebook. i've found that i'm more charmed to catch up with my HS friends than college sorority sisters....my HS class had only 44 people and we went on a senior cruise together that we all remember quite fondly....then a year after i graduate, the school (small private) closed. so some folks are planning a reunion for ALL grades....should be fun!!!
but i guess i'm not really strongly connected to them because i left my HS town to go to college, after college i didn't move back home, and my parents had left that city as well.Like (1)

One that I talk to regularly..... he was just always very good at keeping in touch with everyone. At first I wasn't as good at keeping in touch as he was, but I think he taught me something about how to stay connected to people. He would even come to visit me when I lived out of state. He's one of my two best friends ::heart::
