Why is it that everyone always jumps to that.....Could be that he is just a normally mean person.....

It is hard for a soldier to become accustomed to civilian life....The military rules all of your life....What to eat...Where you can go....Who you can not be with...What to wear....You name it....

Also soldiers know what it is like to be able to trust that the other man has your back....And I mean be able to know that with them there...You will not die....They have far more important things on their mind...than what the civilian's do....

So my Dear..Accept him the way he is.....Or even better....Let his family know how you feel...They will be the better to know if he is worse off....Or even a better person due to the military.....

But the biggest thing that you should NOT do...Is to keep hounding him about it....For you say that you met him after the military....So you may be the one that is causing his PTSD.....By bugging him about it...andnot accepting him the way that he is

Best of luck to you

I totally agree with singer1960. A relationship is a two way street and both of you have to want to work on it.

And he as a vet has many options for help. Relationships, depression. Just ask him about them. Or AKO..
