As a child, what did you want to be when you got older? Did that dream happen for you or got stuck with something else?

I wanted to be the captain of the starship enterprise.
I became a nurse instead. No warp speed but I like what I do.Like (2)

I used to dream of being rich and famous so everyone would love me. That never happened and I used to believe that I got "stuck" with something else. But looking back on my life I realize I was never "stuck", instead I was blessed.

I wanted to write fantasy novels or be a poet, and also be a famous fighter/womanizer/professional adventurer/criminal. I'm doing something else for a living now, but it was a choice and not getting stuck. My goals just changed. Some were silly anyhow and some I already lived. I'm still a poet but never really tried to make a career of it, it's just part of who I am. The fantasy novel thing may or may not happen, but I'm writing more and more non-fiction so I may get around to it one of these days and it'll be far better for my lifetime of experience if I do.

I've already published a non-fiction how-to on amazon and a couple of short books of poetry. As for formatting, I've got the entire Adobe Suite so I can pretty much format for any media. My next publication I'm farming that part out though, because it's a pain in the ***.Like (1)

As a kid, I was obsessed with the movies The Goonies and Back to the Future. I wanted to be an adventurer; failing that, a scientist. I'm 32, working at a grocery store, and dealing with major depression. That's what reality dishes out. Dreams are for dreamers.

I wanted to be an animal cop… and totally changed my mind because I couldn't stand seeing abused animals.

I wanted to be a journalist for a long time. Instead I became a university professor, found out a few things and met some journalists who interviewed me. They told me that I was the lucky one, because I could dig deep and get to the bottom of things, while they had to hop from one thing to another. They helped me find out that often we end up in exactly the right spot in life without even being aware of it.

I wanted to join the Navy, which I did and then become a school teacher, which I didn't do. I went into retail sales and management instead.

I had a Master's in Psychology and could have applied for a teaching certificate but my part time job while in school turned into management one which was okay. I ended up as a VP of Sales but, I still wonder if I would have liked teaching better.Like (1)
