When adults were discusiing something that wasn't for kids ears (christmas/birthday plans; gossip etc) i used to ask what they were talking about. They used to say, especially my dad," I'll tell you when you're 21" I always meant to write it down and ask when I was 21 but never did lol

I understood way before I could ever talk that adults did not hold all the answers, that adults could behave very badly, and that I didn't need to be all grownup to understand some very basic things and concepts.
