I'd say as many as you can mentally handle.Being able to afford them is great but raising them is another matter. One is too much if you aren't into a lifetime of brain strain!

Have tons. More people to buy all the crap and keep the wealthy gaining more.

I had one. And even that was expensive from birth through 21. Would never regret that tho! I love my daughter.

Where I'm from the average is 5 kids per family. So more than that may be a little much.

I'd say any more than 6 would be pushing it..

For me, personally, I would only want one more. But I can't afford one more, so the one I have is the only one I will have .:)

If I can afford them and there are no health implications,I'll keep having 'em.When I am done with biological children...I'll adopt more children.

This question is answerable only by each individual who answers it. For me this number would be 5. One was too few, two is a little more company, three would be freeing, four would be more and five would just be a pain in the behind!! Just kidding I love kids no matter the number. My answer however remains that five would be too many for me.

Having any kids at all is too much. I don't want to have children.

If you can afford them, 2 at the most. Within a year or two of each other.

Unless you are trying to build an army regiment or your own baseball team, in which case, keep having them.

Being the 3rd child, I really don't think I should have been born.

There is no definitive answer here. The maximum number is a factor of HOW GOOD OF A PARENT YOU ARE, HANDLING THAT MANY KIDS. I have seen LOUSY parents who have ONE CHILD and GREAT PARENTS who have 17 kids. "TOO MANY" is that point that is reached, where you are unable to tend to EACH ONE'S individual needs in a sufficient manner. So if you are "too busy" to pay attention to your ONE CHILD, then ONE is too many. But if you are a great parent, you can handle more...up to the point where you start to ignore the ones you already have.

Summary: It's a factor of YOU, not of anything else.
