Aussies: you worried about this summer, the current heatwave, and the bushfire threat?

I'm dying in the heat. I'm pale and I get heatstroke very easily.

... and do you agree with John Howard that Kevin Rudd's had plenty of time now to get something done about a number of problems facing the country, yet Rudd has done very little so far?

And are the Aussies going to stay with us in Afghanistan?

I'm not Aussie,but am SUPER concerned about the oil spill.

I'm in Victoria and I'm afraid they haven't learned a thing from last year's disaster.

The emergency communication system has been centralized to Melbourne ... as if anyone in a city air conditioned office knows where or anything about a local fire some 200km away

Yes i am in fact. We have already had bushfires & it was still spring. This summer is going to be a scorcher. Already still in spring, we've had temps in the mid 30's

yes i am......I was chased outta my town for a couple of reasons other than fires but that was one of the main reasons.....I survived the 1983 bush fires and now this last ones in feb.....my family fought fires in king lake and this year is going to be a major issue with fires......We are not ready again...we will not be for many years to come....
In warburton Vic the end of the great dividing range sits...the 4 mountains,,,ben cairn , Mount victoria and donnabuang to name 3 of them, have not burnt since 1939 fires called black friday.....if that goes up...it will not be stopped and most likely will burn through to the blue mountains in NSW......this will destroy thousands of acres of bush and take out so many towns its a dizzy thought.....
