well the US climate report just came out saying that we already ****** up and there is no longer anything we can do about it. our time to fix the problem is done and over. all we can do is mitigate the situation. so as Colbert said "**** it". we were warned, but we were to worried about what the polls said about how many americans believe in climate change, and as much as climatologist kept insisting that opinions don't actually matter when the science is already in, we said nooo!!! i know that climate change isn't real because some pundit told me... so now i say **** it. let everything go down and let us be considered the stupid generation for not doing anything when we had the chance.
Probably the most irresponsible and reckless thing that the govt. of a country so susceptible to climate change could ever do. But what else would you expect from a complete idiot with no grasp of science or precious little else for that matter.
Check out how much Florida is going to be putting aside for the effects of climate change that are happening now and maybe you will realise just how stupid you sound.
A useful example is provided by Miami. The city is built on top of porous limestone and its foundations are now absorbing water from rising seas at an alarming rate. Water now bubbles up through pipes and drains and taints fresh water supplies while seawater regularly flows out of drains into streets, which become flooded.
Civil engineers currently estimate that the cost of putting right the damage to Miami could rise to billions of dollars and that, please note, is the price that a single city will have to pay to deal with just one aspect of global warming. Repeat it across the globe and you get a notion of the vast cost we now face for having failed to deal with climate change for the past two decades and for faltering in our commitment to agree to curb emissions of carbon dioxide from our factories, power plants and cars.
The result of this continued inaction has been straightforward: climate change – once a far-off threat – is now upon us and is already bringing alarming change to our planet, as the citizens of Miami are now experiencing, along with those living near spreading deserts in Africa, in the far north where tundras are melting, and in high mountain areas in the Andes and Himalayas whose glaciers are now disappearing. As Leonard Berry, director of the Florida Centre for Environmental Studies at Florida Atlantic University puts it: "Climate change is not a future thing, it's a 'happening now' thing."
wtf are you talking about ?
It's only available in the US , but I get your drift and actually agree with you on that point.
Do not be deceived. Australia has scalar weapons, and that is the real reason why the Abbott government is cutting the spending to climate change: they know it is being manipulated and that it is war, and that there is nothing we can do about it except protect our relationship with China and artificially mitigate the effects for as long as possible. Having said that, I would far sooner be living here than in the USA under Obama.
Obama agenda, make gasoline so expensive you can not afford it. Make home power so expensive middle class freeze. The poor would freeze, but the Gov has programs to fix this.
I'm not certain what Australian politics has to do with us.
australian government is public enemy number one with the budget they just delivered
cuts cuts cuts broken promises lies lies lies deceit and grandstanding bull$hit
but I see your point
