Been watching Terra Nova recently, had it in my Sky+ planner for ages...

Not finished it yet, 4 eps to go, so no spoilers please. Anyone else notice that a tv show set in the pre-historic past has very little to do with dinosaurs? I mean seriously, a couple episodes and then it's all to do with the conflict between the groups. It's a good show but I wanted to see a vision of what it would be like to interact with pre-historic life using modern strategies and approaches.

I really wanted to see something like that scene with Muldoon in Jurassic Park, stalking around in the forests and jungles. Clever girl :)

I also have a fair hunch the dinosaur expert is more interested in putting action-oriented dinos in than sticking to the true facts....not to reveal what dinosaur are in it but one of em was Jurassic, the rest are Cretaceous. Ah well, only a hundred million or so years out there, no big deal lol. Same bullshit with Jurassic Park. Velociraptor my ***! That was a Deinonychus!

I'm hoping the season finale at least has something to do with dinosaurs

If you think about it, the main goal was about human survival. The dinosaurs just made the concept cooler. The real obstacle was trying to survive at the beginning of the past, and not trying to make the same mistakes that lead to their reality.

That's true, but surely they needed to put more actual survival in instead of just comfort living, chilling in the past? I just never felt like their environment put them in all that much danger, the real danger came from other humans, and that could be transferred to any setting at all, seems like a waste to have it in the past. My ideal show would have been some mix between Bear Grylls/ Les Stroud and Jurassic Park 1 and 2, show some real survival skill and edge of the seat tense moments. Still, it's a good show, it's my own problem my expectations are probably too high lol

Ah. I did read something before about how much it cost and how Fox are pretty trigger happy when it comes to their shows. Just googled and they're saying maybe someone else will pick it up. Further decreasing the chance of dinosaurs if they don't have the budget...feck sake

... For the rest of us who didn't study pre-historic life it made for interesting television.

Haha, sorry :). Yeah I get a bit pedantic about these things, I suppose I should just take it as light television. I just got really excited about the idea of a show about dinosaurs
