So hard to say but SRV and Gary Moore have to be in the running.

Skill on guitar? Robert Johnson laid down the foundation for players like Clapton, Hendrix, Robert Plant and countless others. His technique was revolutionary and branched several sub genres of the blues in a way never done before or since. You will not find another guitarist with as much influence as Robert Johnson had on the blues genre. Every blues guitarist skill today is present beause Robert Johnson re-wrote the book on playing it.

So SRV is the best in your opinion? That's all it is really, an opinion right? I suppose you can't accurately measure technical skills anymore than you can measure influence though. SRV is a hard one to argue with as are many others so ill just leave it at this, to even attempt to compare a guitarist like Robert Johnson to SRV is virtually impossible to do. You can't compare the technology in the 1930's to technology in the 1980's right? Within that time frame there's countless leaps and bounds of knowledge and ability etc. But again, its simply a matter of opinion and while I disagree, I respect it.

Thank you; I've been feeling little like Scarlett in this photo. It must be the lack of heat and humidity. It's a tough question...no doubt!
