Go to the doctor, say you were sick on that day, ask for a note. Most doctors will just write one for you, after all, they get paid for you to come in, that is the least they can do :-)

Agree...they don't care...so long as you're not asking them to pull anything over on your insurance company. They'll write you a note for work. I once needed time off for "mental health" reasons, and my doctor even asked me what "illness" I wanted him to put on the note. I think I had some sort of "respiratory malady" *wink, wink*...can't remember exactly what...

Yep.. Most Docs will just give you a note if you walk into the office and ask for one explaining the situation to them~

I love it when parents use their child as the excuse to take ludicrous amounts of sick time. Awesome.

How many days were you out? If only one day, I can't imagine your company would require a doctor's note. Just tell them you didn't take her to the doctor as she began to get better. If they want a note for one day, that's pretty ludicrous. If they press the issue, you could always call the pediatrician and explain that your daughter was sick, but it since it only lasted for one day, you didn't bring her in, yet your employer is still requiring a note.

Hmm...I would suggest following 3grnowl's advice and go to your own doctor...you'll get your note. Tell your employer it started with your daughter and was passed along to you...
