Can anyone recommend a good hand gun?

Looking for a snub nose small hand gun that will fit in a waste pack in a high caliber for hiking. I hike in wild arias where there are cougars, coyotes etc. I want something that will put them down first shot. 44 cal or 357

underconstruction , Cougars and coyotes aren't "supposed" to live any where the just are where you find them and you can't "Intrude" on a dumb animal that's like intruding on a bush

Aren´t cougars and coyotes supposed to live in wild areas ?

Desert Eagle 357. Yeah, it's a hand cannon, but with practice, you'll never have to worry about taking a second shot.

I have a .38 Special with hydrashock hollowpoints. But, it's for personal protection at home, not for taking out wild animals.

Glock 17 9mm. The clip holds 17 rounds. Good luck finding ammo...the obama scare is driving up prices. If you want a rifle, try the Panther Classic AR15...it is one bad *** weapon to protect yourself with from an out of control government.

Your choice of hand gun is very big and yes it will bring the game down with the first bullet. What fun is that! A smaller caliber with a hollow point could do the job and natural if you are a good shot you can achieve the one round one kill.
