There are some religions where there is no limit to how many wives a man can have, Even in Christianity it doesn't say that a man can only have one wife, but the church as an institution made the rule one man one woman. In Islam a man can under certain circumstances have up to four wives´BUT there are conditions and reasons for this. If a Muslim does take more than one wife he has to treat them exactly the same with no preference and if he buys a house for one he must buy a house for the 2nd. and he has to ask his first wife for permission to marry a second. In the Quran there is a verse which says that if you can't deal justly with more than one then marry only one. So the Quran really advises only one wife although 4 are permitted. As far as I believe the Quran is the only book that says to marry only one, I am not sure if it is mentioned in the Bible to marry only one wife. If anybody knows where it is stated in the Bible about marrying only one wife I would like to know where it is. Thanks. I think in Hinduism they can also marry more than one wife and I have heard that some men have over 200 wives. Sorry I have forgotten the source where I heard this so unfortunately I have no proof or evidence, I am only going on what I have heard or read in the past.

It's best for the children to have two parents that care for them and provide stability. Duh, seems like a no brainer.

Islam doesn't. I don't know how a man could stay sane dealing with more than 1 PMS a month. :P

Its natural I guess. Human's like to "own" things and I guess a spouse is no different. Be honest could you really share your partner with another person? If so that's good but i don't think a majorty of people could, though I may be wrong just opinion,
