That question postulates innumerable other ones like 'is there a God?'... or maybe 'is there only a God because we are too vain to accept that we are mortal and there is no 'after-life'.... moreso does that mean - subject to resolution of the above - that it is WE who can control our thoughts???

No, that would defeat the purpose of life run on free will so that God can experience itself

Wouldn't that contradict the whole "free will" thing?

    I think it would...
