Can I become a writer for television if I study something like psychology at undergrad level?

Also - how would I even go about this when I finish my undergrad degree? Would I need to do another course?

No, you need to take courses in writing. Writing is a trained skill, it's not something you kind of learn n the side while studying psychology. If you apply for a job alongside a thousand others who all have formal writing credentials you won't be looked at.

Thank you! Like a university course, for example, or something different?

University courses are your best bet. Honestly, just google 'writing for television' and see what kinds of certifications/degrees they require. Failing that a bachelor's in English or Comp lit will be okay, but there are straight up writing degrees. Good luck!

From my understanding people generaly don't care what the degree is for just that you have it. Unless of course the career demands it like a Dr for expample.
