That's actually considered a reasonable fee for ER visit. If you went to an Urgent Care Center you probably would have come out better.

It takes lots of money to run an ER and going there for a minor cut utilized the resources of their staff, equipment and time nonetheless..

I'm not saying it's fair... just a fact... sorry..

I have to agree with others - that's average for emergency care. If from a private doctor by appointment you might have a chance going to his/her Administrator.
Sorry for your injury...be well...

$300.00? That's nothing. I went home, as a teenage dropout, with a $42,000 dollar bill. Needless to say they didn't get paid.

Last year I had a life saving surgery at a nightmare of a hospital. The ER exam room looked like a room from a Saw movie. I kid you not. Anyway, I went home with a $9,000 dollar bill. I'm still paying it off.

At the end of 2011 I had another life saving surgery that required a specialized back surgeon. Thankfully it only ran around $10,000 or so. Still getting bills in. I'm sure you will too.

In other words, I'll trade you bills if you want.
Pay it and be glad it's not more. Prepare for future visits! It will happen and it's costly!

What was the nature of your injury? I have used super glue to close small cuts and glue down loose skin, but if it were bigger than inch I'd go to a doctor. That's what I do for myself I'm not recommending that to anyone else.

if that was in an emergency facility with no insurance payout....that's probably fair in the US

Best Answer

well not "fair" but I think they charged me more even with my insurance the last time I went out of my area and they didn't do anything but check me out after an incident
