It's weird. It came with a quick internet thing and that works but the laptop won't start into Windows.

It depends on what is "broken." If your hard drive is not damaged it can be removed and all the information retrieved and transferred to another computer.<br />

This is not a complicated thing to do, but if you're clueless about it, take it to a computer repair shop and have them do it for you.<br />
<br />
And, as always, backup. Periodically copy everything off your computer to a separate spare drive. They are cheap and simple. That way, even if your laptop is stolen, you can recreate your electronic world.
