Well...I majored in English back when I was in college and I have spent my entire career in the field of criminal justice. Of course, I am a teacher, not a science person or CSI type person. Prisons and other institutions (I am working currently in a public mental hospital) hire teachers. If you want to work in a forensic science field, you will need to go back to school and get another degree. I also have a bachelor of science degree in Admin. of Criminal Justice.

However....the very best way to find out the answer to your question, or any other career questions, is to talk to people who do the kind of job you would like to have. Ask them how they prepared for their careers, how they got their current jobs and what would they recommend that you do to get the kind of job they have. People LOVE to talk about how they made in in their careers, and if you go to where they are or phone in mid week, you will have a good chance of getting them to talk to you. No one can help you as much as they can.
