There are many binary star systems more than you or I can count . The one we live in had the potential to be one billions of years ago .

Depends on which star system you find yourself in. But if you count the stars as suns (which they are), then under the right conditions the human eye is capable of seeing roughly 3000 stars (or suns) in the night sky.

The sky could. But they'd have to be weaker than ours, or else we'd fry.

The sky holds nothing...where would a second sun fit into the system anyway without burning up another planet?
