no, once it has caused friction, its very difficult to fix it.. only miracle can fix it..sometimes even one partner is willing another one is not willing..
so if its mutual.. it can be fixed...mostly long term separation leads to divorce..no one has enough patience to exhaust themselves or drain themselves emotionally! its tough to forget!

Yes, provided you both have analysed the reasons for your separation. If you think the reason was money, then, you must've done all the homework necessary to prevent money from being a problem.
If it was about ego, then one of you must just forget all about it and be compatible enough for something good to happen. And, most importantly, try to do the reunion through a mutual friend who's a well-wisher for both of you. Otherwise, it's mostly difficult.
