My mother has been baking for years and is generally a good baker; but every once in awhile she gets what she calls "bad crust karma". It sounds ridiculous i know but for awhile whenever i went and visited her, I would have to make several batches of pie crust for her to freeze. calmgreenocean's suggestion is a very good one. Also, keep it simple. Find a simple recipe and master it. then move onto a more complex recipe. hope this helps!

temperature and proper technique are the most important because the recipes are pretty straight forward. Also....I would suggest you never use margarine. Lard and butter taste best.

Try not to handle it too much. The more it is messed with the tougher it will be.

Best Answer

Just use puff pastry from the store for the crust.
