Can you think about anything positive about international terrorism?

One positive thing i see is: It will bring us closer together as an international community. Then we can concentrate on the long term issues we face as humans, the ones our children and our children's children will endure. You know what they are...

Every terrorist that blows himself up is one less to worry about.

The fact that most terrorism is actually carried out by rouge elements within government as a means of expanding the state and its war machine is pretty horrifying.

But knowing the truth is preferable to thinking that your country must prosecute endless wars around the world lashing out at fabled unseen enemies.

Not from our point of view, no. But from the govt's point of view, absolutely. It creates a climate of fear and distrust in the population, making it easier to take away civil liberties in the name of 'freedom'. When people are frightened, they are easier to opress.
Besides, one man's 'terrorist' is another man's 'freedom fighter' - these are just words, labels and all they do is serve to create terror in our minds, thus keeping us doing as we're told. And guess what? Invading countries illegally under the guise of bringing freedom, whilst setting up military bases and stealing all the oil is in fact the one thing that'll guarantee MORE terrorism. Every Iraqi child whose dad or brother or mother has been killed have hate in their hearts and a desire for revenge. We should've learned our lesson in Northern Ireland on that score - and they only rose up in the first place because they were being opressed by us 'decent' Brits. Decent Brits who'll torture people for not giving their names in english, rather than their mother tongue. Oh and guess who sold a lot of arms to the IRA? America! Special relationship indeed - secret handshakes and plans of world domination in one room & an arms trade in the other. Same goes for Iraq and Afghanistan - we go on about how Afghanistan is the number 1 grower of heroin - because we payed them to grow it!! Where do you think morphine comes from? the morphine fairy? Our governments are up to their necks in corruption and double dealing and none of them can be trusted from where i'm sat - and that's what scares me, not 'terrorists'. the real terrorists are running the western world and we shut our eyes and watch the X Factor..... ok, rant over, lol.

Temporarily it will drive them deeper underground.
And make their heinous plots a little more more difficult to execute.
Some might even have to look for part time work..

I'm afraid I don't share your rosy perception of the situation. The international community is more divided than it has ever been. The only people getting a good deal out of it are the arms manufacturers and Military Intelligence.
