Can you train yourself to be more of a people person?

You can, there are many methods out there. I don't know if Dale Carnegie is still popular, my wife used to be a trainer for that course. I'm pretty withdrawn and quiet and she wanted me to change but I resisted it. I'm still resisting it though I love being with people that I like and respect, and those who respect me.

yes and no, its abot what new experiences you try and what your willing to do and if you find the habits and choices others are doing you can, otherwise you will find yourself less interested.

Yeah, but if you aren't naturally outgoing or an extrovert, it might be a bit draining.

Absolutely. It takes a lot of effort and going into 'new' territory emotionally. I'm not suggesting that you'll suddenly change into a '300 close friends' type of person (I wouldn't want to be that kind of person.) overnight... but if you take baby steps toward being a little more outgoing, and take the chance of talking to strangers in safe environments, you can get to a place of comfort with others.
