Why would Americans treat Canadians like celebrities?

As an American who lived in Australia, I had that experience, too. But I didn't love it. It's silly to think that another person is somehow better just because they're foreign. Another pet peeve: People (and I'm thinking of Americans, mainly, because I'm American so I've heard only Americans say it, but I bet other nationalities do too0 who think it's sooooo seeexxxxxyyyyy for someone to "have an accent." Stupid. No accent is inherently better than any other.

True...but an accent may/can/does for some, have an arousing effect on others... When I was a teen, a man with an American accent used to make me go weak at the knees :D

People bag on Americans, but most of us really like other people. I guess if you don't like being liked, you could always stay home. Personally, I like every single Canadian I have ever met. You are all rock stars in my book, especially if you were in Saga.
