We are free from condemnation and from guilty or fear of punishment. We are also new creatures in Christ Jesus, and are completely free inside.

True freedom in Christ is freedom from attachment to the physical body, astral body, and causal body. It is freedom from the hell of future physical, astral, and causal reincarnations. When you love Christ more than your physical, astral, and causal body then you will be free. The soul is bottled up in these three bodies. Jesus will set you free when you prove to Him you love him more than His gifts.

He was referring freedom from sin.

Christ was never a "Christian" he was just himself trying to tell humanity how to save themselves from their own self through forgiveness and self love. Real freedom "in Christ" means being free from guilt, shame and "sin" which really means lack of love in a person's life. In my experience you have to be at a real low point in your life to really have God come into your life and get any gestalt results "standing on the rock that Moses stood".
